64791 1960 Sowerby Bridge

The appearance of an ex-LNER Gresley 'J39' 0-6-0 on ex-L&YR metals at Sowerby Bridge Station in the Calder Valley was not exactly a frequent event! The allocation of 64791 to the ex-L&YR shed at Low Moor in Bradford was almost certainly what had brought this about. The 253 ft. high 'folly' (the tallest such in the world) of Wainhouse Tower in Halifax is on the skyline. This photograph is dated 1960.
