D6595 1967-11-19 Holborn Viaduct

On 19th November 1967 the Branch Line Society ran the ‘East Kent Railtour’ using a pair of BRC&W Type ‘3’ diesels which “topped and tailed” the train. No. D6595 was one of the narrow bodied locomotives, No. D6585 was a standard one.

No. D6595 brought the train from Victoria via Loughborough Junction and Blackfriars to Holborn Viaduct. The bomb damaged station was finally rebuilt in 1963 with a nine-storey office block above, and this is visible above the train.
