On an unusual train formed of the new unique JGA Bogie Hopper wagons used on the gravel train that ran between Drayton and the loading terminal at Lavant, on the former branch to Midhurst. These were numbered FR17001 to FR17011 and were design Code JG003A. (Previously PHA - Design code PH003A). They were built by IMC Engineering at Hartlepool in 1971-1972 so they would have been brand new in this photo. The FR stands for Frances Parker Limited and initially they had Frances on their sides. This train was usually worked by class 73 Electro-Diesel locos. Thanks to Ian Penfold for this information.
