DEMU 1034 forms the stock for a Brighton train. I seem to recall that this was not as unusual as it may seem as there was a Saturday only working from Brighton to Exeter and return formed with a pair of DEMU's. We assume there must be some sort of problem as they were normally allowed out on their own. Around 1976/7 the DEMU's were replaced by a 33's and mk1's.
