On 13th February 1961, H class 31551 and pull-push set 714 are near High Halstow Halt returning from Allhallows. Set 714 is formed of ex-LBSCR composite 6237 and ex-SECR driving brake third 3467 and was withdrawn in July 1961. By this date coach 6237 was the last ordinary ex-LBSCR coach in mainland service — outlasted only by vehicles serving the Isle of Wight. The H class monopolised the pull-push services after about 1950, prior to then the ex-LCDR R and R1 0-4-4-tanks were used.
