Local services to Port Victoria, Grain and Allhallows commenced their journeys at Gravesend Central. H class 31322 has just arrived in the up platform with a service from Allhallows in May 1959. The pull-push set is no.652, in its 1958-62 formation of SECR 60ft third (now second) 1074 and rebuilt LSWR 46ft 6in driving brake composite 6428. Pull-push sets 652-655 were ordered in 1934 specifically for the improved Allhallows service and were formed of rebuilt and re-framed LSW stock but were not used exclusively on the line. In the down platform is a Gillingham-bound electric service formed of a 4-SUB or 4-EPB unit.
