5069 1953-07-18 Bristol

GWR Castle class 4-6-0 No 5069 Isambard Kingdom Brunel waits to leave Bristol Temple Meads with an ECS train on July 18, 1953.
Peter Kerslake says "Laira's 5069 has the lamp code for an empty stock working which I assume it has brought up from the Westcountry, destination unknown!
Easily recognisable by that massive nameplate 5069 came out of Swindon Works in June 1938, initially allocated to Old Oak Common allthough most of its working life was spent at Laira from where it was condemned in February 1962."
