GWR Castle class 4-6-0 No 5075 Wellington comes off the Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash with a Down special on July 21, 1959. Peter Kerslake says "With no road bridge to spoil the background 5075 comes off the single line across Brunel's masterpiece and takes the down road into Saltash with the fireman handing over the token to the awaiting Saltash signalman. Wellington had been a Laira engine until the month of this picture and now has its new 83C (Exeter) shedplate. It remained there until moving to Neath and Cardiff Canton before ending its days at Bristol Bath Road in September 1962. I wonder what special working this was?"
