Castle 4-6-0 No 5012 Berry Pomeroy Castle leaves Exeter St.Davids with the down 'Torbay Express' on 14th August 1952.

Peter Kerslake says "Nicely turned out by Newton Abbot the previous day and now heading back home again 5012 "Berrry Pomeroy Castle" had been housed at Newton Abbot in company with 5011 "Tintagel Castle" from July of 1927, the first two "Castles" to be allocated to Newton Abbot from being newly built at Swindon, with 5012 remaining there until a move to Oxford in 1950.
The "Torbay Express" workings were shared between Newton Abbot and Old Oak Common, both depots invariably using a Castle. "
