Castle class 4-6-0 No 5035 Coity Castle climbs towards Saunderton with the 4.10pm Paddington to Birkenhead Woodside express in May 1939.

Peter Kerslake adds "An early image of 5035 "Coity Castle" from May of 1939 as her fireman lays an impressive pall of smoke here at Saunderton. Points of interest are the original design of smoothed inside valve chest casing.
