GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 7032 Denbigh Castle with the 7.30am Paddington-Penzance loaded to 14 coaches banked by 6113 passing Whiteball siding on 4 August 1962.

Peter Kerslake says "Poor old 7032 "Denbigh Castle" has clearly found the fourteen coach load too much for the climb from Taunton to Whiteball summit and has most unusually required a banking engine.
From Newton Abbot a pilot engine to Plymouth will clearly be required, even if a few coaches are dropped off for the Torquay line at Newton Abbot, as a "Castle" was officially limited to just eight coaches working unassisted over the South Devon banks."
