In superb external condition, Newton Abbot 83A allocated GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 5011 Tintagel Castle up 'Torbay Express' passing Dawlish in 1953. It had been in Swindon works the previous August so the local shed staff had really looked after it. It went back to Swindon Works for a month in August 1953 for a Light Casual repair where it received a Hawksworth flat sided tender so clearly this is before that.
