GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 5053 Earl Cairns down 'Devonian' beside River Teign at Hackney before Newton Abbot on 17 June 1959. Coombe Cellars can be seen on the other side of the river.

Peter Kerslake says "It's a very low tide here on the River Teign as 5053 runs down towards its home at Newton Abbot having worked the "Devonian" from Bristol Temple Meads, its journey nearly completed.
Five months after this photograph 5053 was transferred to Plymouth's Laira depot, thereafter to Canton in September of 1961, its final home before being condemned in July 1962."
