Castle class 4-6-0 No 5028 Llantilio Castle leaves Bodmin Road with the 7.50am Newquay to Manchester express on July 4, 1959.
Peter Kerslake says "5028 is climbing up through the Glynn Valley with Bodmin Road station in the background, with the Bodmin General branch train in the bay platform. The Castle will probably be working through to Newton Abbot where a fresh engine will take the train forward on this West to North duty. This location is a blaze of colour in Spring time, with wild rhododendrons growing in profusion alongside the line all the way up to Liskeard, the next station up the line."
