HR 136 1913 Inverness MPD

The Highland Railway had relatively little need for smaller tender locomotives. Such requirements as existed were satisfied by Peter Drummond's 'K' or 'Barney' class 0-6-0s of which just a dozen were built. Originally fitted with a somewhat oversized 8-wheel bogie tender, No. 136 in 1913 at Inverness MPD has evidence of peeling paintwork! It has acquired a six-wheel tender exchanged with 'Ben' class 4-4-0 No. 14 'Ben Dearg'. No. 136 was built by of Glasgow in Feb. 1900 and survived until withdrawal in Jan. 1952 as BR No. 57695.
