HR 21 1913 Muir of Ord

HR 21 1913 Muir of Ord

This delightful and animated scene was captured in 1913. It sees a typical everyday event at the Highland Railway's Muir of Ord station, Ross & Cromarty. The very mixed rake of carriages is hauled by one of the twelve Peter Drummond 'K' or 'Barney' 0-6-0s No. 21. At this time, the locomotive was fitted with firebox cross water tubes, removed by the LMS in May 1936. No. 21 was built by Dubs & Co. of Glasgow in Aug. 1902 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1949 still liveried as LMS No. 17702.
