Ex-LNER Gresley 'A3' class 4-6-2 No. 60036 'Colombo'. Built at Doncaster in July 1934 as LNER No. 2501 and withdrawn in November 1964.

In the early 1960s, the photographer has pressed the shutter at just the right moment to capture 'Colombo', a glimpse of York's wonderful city walls and the old Queen Street locomotive works that once housed the LNER's original railway museum.
