60105 1949c Peascliffe Tunnel North

60105 1949c Peascliffe Tunnel North

Peascliffe Tunnel North of Grantham, south portal. Immaculate. It was re-numbered in August 1948 and is likely to be soon after this but by the foliage it is spring. It's (most likely) the driver who's visible in the cab here because 60105 was right hand drive until early in 1953.

Peter Kerslake says "A splendid shot of 60105 Victor Wild. Some substantial drainage or similar work is underway and the driver is keping a careful eye on things from his cabside window.
A very early example of the class, and the third to be built at Doncaster in 1923."
