ARP Instructional Coach 1939-11-02 198520
Outwardly this appears to be an ex corridor first built 1907-08 by the LNWR to D91/92. These were 12 wheel 65'6'' coaches forming part of the 'American Special' stock of the Euston - Liverpool (Riverside) boat trains and were constructed to attract the North American transatlantic passengers. Latterly in LMS days 2 of them were converted into Club saloons for use between Manchester and North Wales. What an elegant looking coach it must have been a joy to travel in it when new.
