CR 84 1920s near Stanley Junction

Caledonian Railway Pickersgill '72' class 4-4-0 No. 84. Built by Armstrong, Whitworth & Co. of Newcastle in March 1921 and withdrawn in December 1961 as BR No. 54489. The glorious sight of the Caledonian Railway's striking blue livery is seen here in the early 1920s (sadly) in monochrome only. Just beyond the bridge is Stanley Junction where the Highland Railway joins Caley metals for access to Perth. A distant train can be seen waiting for 84 to pass before also getting a path southbound towards Perth. The first vehicle is a CR horsebox complete with double 'trumpet' air vents.
