Ex-Caledonian Railway Pickersgill '72' class 4-4-0 No. 54499. Built by NBL of Glasgow in November 1922 as CR No. 68 and withdrawn in May 1960.

The 21st November 1960 saw the preserved Highland Railway No. 103 ready to depart for Gleneagles, Stirling and Glasgow from Blair Atholl with the SLS 'Highland Special' railtour. On this murky day, 54499 had pre-heated the coaches prior to the departure. Blair Atholl's tiny MPD can be just seen behind 54499.
