The Fell diesel returned to Derby Works for the last time during November 1958 following a fire in its train heating boiler at Manchester Central on 16th October which caused serious damage to the locomotive. No.10100, photographed in the Works on 15th March 1959, was withdrawn in w/e 22nd November, and after a short stay in Klondyke Sidings was cut-up in early 1960.
