Caledonian Railwat McIntosh '812' (LMS '3F') class 0-6-0 No. 289. Built at St. Rollox in 1899 and withdrawn in May 1949 still as LMS No. 17624.

A really lovely portrait circa 1905 of 289, one of the 79-strong '812' class. The photograph is only marred by an engineman who forgot to stay still! The characteristic hill behind, reveals this to be taken at the Caledonian's MPD at Perth. Restored from an original period 8"x10" print.
