Working the 7A09 09.34 Carlisle to Willesden, a wonderfully mixed freight so common for the period. Note the Royal train stabled behind, is that Prince Charles looking out to see the "Roarer" passing!
David J. Hayes says "The wagonload consist of this wonderfully mixed goods train appears to include a nuclear flask (near the bridge). A working such as this would have probably traversed the Settle & Carlisle line, with the electric loco coming on at Farington Junction, a couple of miles or so south of Preston"
