Newtown on the Cambrian system , situated some thirteen miles from Welshpool , was an important location , with the original 1859 station being replaced some years later.
7823 " Hook Norton Manor " had been allocated to Truro Depot in Cornwall in the mid ' fifties and following its time in service was subsequently withdrawn from Tyseley Depot in July of 1964 , sadly not being one of the nine of the class subsequently saved for preservation .
