AL2' No.E3047 with a Liverpool-West of England express at Weaver Junction in 1963. It would hand over to a Western Region 'Warship' diesel-hydraulic at Crewe. No. E3047 was built at Beyer-Peacock's Gorton Works with A.E.I. (Metropolitan Vickers) as main contractors for the electrical equipment. It was renumbered as No. 82001 under TOPS in 1974 but only worked until December 1977 when it sustained severe damage in a collision near Willesden; it was eventually cut-up in 1985.
