44691 1960s Patricroft

44691 1960s Patricroft

Built by BR in October 1950 with all "mod-cons" - self-cleaning smokebox, rocking grate, self-emptying ashpan, manganese steel liners and Timken roller bearings on the driving axle. It was only at 17A Derby for a short time from October 1960 until June 1961. The picture was probably taken shortly after it completed a HG at Crewe in March 1961.
