45440 1960s Approaching Warrington

Edge Hill Class ‘5’ No. 45440 is approaching Warrington after passing over Acton Grange Viaduct. The running lines from left to right were named: the Up and Down Chester lines (although Chester and Crewe could both be accessed), the Up and Down Crewe lines (logically only leading to or from Crewe) and the Down Slow line which commenced after the viaduct somewhere below the Class ‘5’s train. The line joining from the left goes to the Walton Old Junction and Sidings and then to Arpley Yards.
