Ex-Highland Railway P. Drummond 'Small Ben' (LMS '2P') class 4-4-0 No. 14413 'Ben Alligan' (pilot). Built at Lochgorm in February 1901 as HR No. 17 and withdrawn in December 1933. Ex-Highland Railway C. Cumming '3P' class 4-4-0 No. 14523 'Durn' (train). Built by Hawthorn, Leslie & Co. in November 1916 as HR No. 74 and withdrawn in April 1935.

This powerful photograph was taken from the road crossing in Ford Road at Blair Atholl Station circa 1924. This view is still little changed today. The pair are heading south on an up train for Perth.
