The unique ex-Midland Railway 0-10-0 Lickey Banker No. 58100 sits forlornly in Derby Works. It has already assisted its last train up that fearsome incline. This remarkable engine been withdrawn in May 1956 but was not scrapped for over a year, perhaps being considered (rightly) for preservation. Alas, it was not to be. Someone seems to have taken the numberplate as a souvenir - what price that today?
