7391 1947 North Ferriby

7391 1947 North Ferriby

Ex-Great Northern Railway Ivatt 'C2' (LNER 'C12') class 4-4-2 Tank No. 7391. Built at Doncaster in July 1907 as GNR No. 1541 and withdrawn in Jan. 1958 as BR No. 67391. It took quite a lot of Sherlockholmesery' to identify this location. Eventually (thanks to Google Maps), determining it is North Ferriby on the banks of the River Humber. The coaches are all of NER origin. Some wag has chalked a matchstick man on the smokebox, though the classic Edwardian lines of 7391 in this 1947 view are otherwise intact!
