GNR N2 0-6-2T No 69505 down with brake van passing through Great Ponton station on 4 August 1959. When you look closely you can see the guards face looking out of his ducket!

John Clayson adds "This is likely to be the returning engine and brake van trip which ran at weekday lunchtime between Grantham and Highdyke Yard. It was bringing home the early shift of Grantham-based staff who'd worked the High Dyke branch, having delivered the back shift staff on the outward run.
Looks like the footplate crew are struggling to get the left hand injector to pick up".
