69570 1955 Ipswich
That condensing pipe was not much use in East Anglia - estimated date.
This is a real mystery picture with Kings Cross allocated N2 Condensing Tank no. 69570 photogaphed by myself at Ipswich station on the up through road in early 1955.
Just what it's doing on the Great Eastern Section here at Ipswich is a complete mystery, although I recall that a few of the class were to be found in the London area of that Section at that period of time, but Ipswich is a long way from Liverpool Street.
This picture was published in the October , 2005 edition of " British Railways Illustrated " magazine , incorrectly described by myself as being at Colchester , and there was subsequent correspondence from readers as to its being here at Ipswich , I recall.
