A lovely sight near Crawford in Lanarkshire sees 'Duchess of Rutland' striding out with an express working. The neatness of the track, ballast and cess is a credit to the linesmen who maintained the WCML. 46228 was built at Crewe in June 1938 as LMS No. 6228 and was withdrawn in Sept. 1964.
