‘Coronation’ No.46224 Princess Alexandra at Stafford taken after January 1961 when it received its AWS equipment. It was based at Polmadie shed in Glasgow from 1939 until withdrawn in October 1963. The gantries for the electrification are now in place, but work was not completed and the current switched on until late 1962.
