David says "An A8 in steam at this time was a very rare event as the survivors were all in store at various north eastern sheds. The loco was heading north towards Norton Station on its way back to West Hartlepool shed. What it had been out doing that day is anyone’s guess. I never saw it in steam again. It was withdrawn and scrapped the following June."
