SECR D1 4-4-0 No 31489 with a Tunbridge Wells train climbing from Tonbridge on 5 February 1960. The headcode lamps (plus the Restriction 0 - 3 coach set) says it is going to Hastings. When lamps were displayed the headcode disc was only used to show the loco duty number.
