Wainwright SE&CR D class 4-4-0 No 741 on a down train between Beckenham Junction and Shortlands in WW1 unlined livery in the late 1910s or early 1920s.

It looks like the front left hand buffer has lost its head - very strange, I have not seen this before especially on an engine working a passenger train!
