This was the RCTS ‘Invicta Special’ involving 6 different engines. It began at Liverpool St Station with Nos 68630/39 as far as Blackheath where D Class No 31737 took over as far as Rainham. Then R Class 0-4-4T No 31671 took the 7 coaches as far as Faversham at which point D1 Class No 31505 had charge of the train to Kearsney. Next, No 31737 came on a second time for the run to Ashford, and then E Class No 31166 was added to form a double header on the final leg from Ashford to London Blackfriars.
