BR 4MT 2-6-0 No 76026 leaves Evercreech Junction with the 15.30 train from Templecombe on the last day of service, Saturday March 5, 1966.
Peter Kerslake says "The last day of scheduled workings on the Somerset and Dorset saw 76026 working the line all day.
The Standard Class 4s had come to the Somerset and Dorset in 1955 following trials with 76012 in March and they proved to be useful engines complementing the Standard Class 5s which had also been extensively used on passenger services since their earlier arrival in 1954."
