40100 1962-02-22 Bedford
1935-built Stanier 2-6-2T No.40100 on 22 February 1962 at Bedford. It had been allocated to Kentish Town since 1942 and had been in store several times, the last of which was for almost the whole of 1960, from 11th January until 12th December, but it finally succumbed in August 1962. No.40100 still has a pre-1957 British Railways emblem, its last General repair being completed at Horwich in September 1956 before the new crest was introduced.
