A train for Margate is seen at Tonbridge during the 1940s. In charge is Class E 4-4-0 No 1159, built at Ashford 11/1908 and finally withdrawn by BR as 31159 in 11/1951. The fluted coupling rod which characterised the Class E (as opposed to the Ds) can just be seen.
