Construction work is in progress all around the remains of the station as condenser fitted ‘3F’ 0-6-0T No. 47248 is opened up to lift its train up the 1 in 39 incline towards Blackfriars. It was built at Vulcan Foundry for the Midland Railway in June 1902, and was at Cricklewood from December 1946 until July 1962 when it moved to Gorton for its final year in service.
