1021 1955-04-14 Penzance Long Rock shed

GWR County 4-6-0 No 1021 County of Montgomery in BR black mixed traffic livery on shed at Penzance on 14 April 1955.
Peter Kerslake says The 'Counties' were ideally suited for the 70 miles or so run between Plymouth and Penzance with intermediate stops on the way as they were sure footed in getting underway. The daily afternoon milk workings were a favourite duty for the class both from Penzance to Plymouth and from Plymouth to Kensington. Photo: J.F. Davies / Rail Archive Stephenson
