1011 1965-01-24 Swindon Stock Shed
Her working days over , devoid of name and numberplates and with the painted " 1011 " on her bufferbeam to remind us of the Enthusiasts' Special of 20th . September 1964 , " County of Chester " , a former Bristol Bath Road engine and the last of her class shares this line on Swindon condemned line with an equally sad looking " Hall " .
None of the " Counties " were preserved , but thanks to the efforts of many , including the Great Western Society , 1014 , "County of Glamorgan " , also a former Bristol engine , is well on the way to being revived at Didcot using many parts , including the main frames , from 7927 " Willington Hall " together with the boiler of "8F " 48518 , both those engines being spared cutting up at Barry Scrapyard when its owner the late Dai Woodham retired.
