Didcot as it used to be with 1002 , " County of Berks " , 4919 , " Donnington Hall " and 3763 in attendance on the 3rd. of June , 1962.
Some stalwart has made a brave effort with cleaning the cabside numberplate and nameplate on a rather work worn 1002 , a Penzance engine in happier times , and it is so pleasing to know that Didcot Motive Power Depot lives on , now the centre of the Great Western Society with all its activities in the steam preservation movement.
