No.1016 County of Hants on 18th February 1962. It was grammatically correct to use abbreviated titles such as Hants, Bucks, Chester etc, as ‘County of Cheshire ‘ would be incorrect – a lesson that was learned on the earlier GWR Churchward 4-4-0s.. No.1016 was shedded at Shrewsbury from November 1952 until withdrawn in September 1963.
