No 7 1968-06-22 Wellesley

Previously working at the Michael Colliery this locomotive became surplus when the Michael closed following the huge fire of September 1967. Seen here in dark green livery dumped at Wellesley in June 1968 NCB No 7 (AB 2262/1949) is believed to have found further use at Frances Colliery, Dysart. Eventually it was sold in December 1972 to Thomas Muir scrap merchant at Thornton. It was later transferred to the same firm’s Kirkaldy yard where it was still rusting away in 2014, awaiting a buyer.
The giesl ejector loco to the right is NCB No 18 (HE 3809/1954).
