Coventry No4 1963-04-23 Coventry Kersley Colliery

The Warwickshire Coal Company developed Keresley Colliery from 1902 although sinking was not completed until 1919. The colliery was connected to the Coventry-Nuneaton line by a two mile long private railway. Peckett works No.1745 of 1927 was named Coventry No.4 worked there until it was sent to Andrew Barclays for refurbishment in 1963. Afterwards it went to Arley Colliery, but returned to Kerseley in September 1968 and was scrapped on site by T.W.Ward exactly a year later
