Recorded as D5714, one of the unloved and unreliable 'Metrovick' Co-Bos, at Toton on 14th May 1961 next to 9F 2-10-0 No.92125. The diesel had entered traffic in March 1959 but was withdrawn in July 1968, not long after the 9F. The Midland Division managed to offload it to Barrow in March 1962 while it was at its makers' works at Dukinfield, Manchester for over twelve months from October 1961 until November 1962 to receive modifications and a general overhaul. This included removal of the wrap round windows. Note that one overhead warning flashes is fitted which makes one wonder if the identity is correct as the other end had none in 1962.
